Forgiveness and Joy, and more thoughts on life, ha!

It's not lost on me that sometimes I'm nieve, or that maybe I should be less open with these blog posts. I just have learned over my 45 years that its worse to keep things inside than to air them out. You still have to be careful how you do it - because sometimes its not forgiven by those around you. That's super hard to believe and accept, but there is so much unforgiveness in this world. Too much. I woke up this morning to Matthew 6:14 as the verse of the day: "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you." NKJV Wow, what a coincidence, huh? Yesterday, I was posting about some hard truths that I realized over the weekend, then I posted some about forgiveness on my Instagram and Facebook stories, and now this morning God gently reminds me of this. Oh, He's good. No matter how much you are hurt, no matter the emotions, no matter anything, we are to forgive each other. Jesus died so we'd all be forgiven all of our tran...

A few thoughts and Covid-19

This past long weekend gave me pause to think. I want to share that and also it will help get me out of my head before beginning work this week. I hope.  First, counseling is such a good thing - for everyone. No matter who you are there is or has been something in your life that you needed more help with than a friend and family member can or could give you. Sometimes its just a listening ear you need to throw thoughts or feelings/emotions off of - no opinions, no advice, no suggestions. Just someone to listen, and help you listen to yourself. I spoke or texted with two people this weekend that reminded me of my counseling and how internally I've come a long way in my internal issues - and also how certain people in my life have helped me to go further in my public life. Those times I was in counseling were times that I couldn't go to the people around me because it either had something to do with them, would hurt them without meaning to, or I knew just couldn't help with w...

Day Trip and My favorite Cab

Today, I planned - though I also didn't plan. I wasn't sure I was going to follow through with going out of town and keeping my reservations. When my body and mind woke me up at 6:15 a.m. and wouldn't let me go back to sleep, I knew I was going. 6:15 a.m. is not a time I know very well - only when I had insomnia was I very friendly with it, and it was a pretty toxic friendship at that.  Anyway, I "attended" my Zoom Bible study at 9 a.m. - which provided very thought-provoking information to mull over as I drove - and then headed to my planned mini getaway - Napa. Today's lucky two wineries? Robert Sinskey and Peju. Truly, I was the lucky one. ROBERT SINSKEY I had driven past this winery several times on previous trips, and always noticed how busy it was. Its just off of Silverado Trail (a favorite drive of mine, even without the wineries) and the building is modern but inviting. "I have to try there one day," I said to myself every time I passed it....

Wine-ings Post 2: My Top 10 Non-Napa Wineries (right now) and procrastinating doing my taxes

I'm ready to give my top ten wineries - at least they are in this point in time - that are not in or around the Napa area. It's also another attempt to delay doing my taxes a little longer - but I will do them today at some point. Because I was a victim of tax fraud and identity theft, I'm encouraged to do them as soon as I have all the documents I need (got the last one I didn't realize I needed last week) even though I have a special pin they send me so that doesn't happen again. But I feel like talking about wine right now so I'm going to talk about wine.  Unlike the previous post, I did not order these by number. At the moment I can't choose how to order them in preference because I had such different experiences at each that I liked as well as the others, but I promise if one starts to stand out while I'm writing, I will let you know. Otherwise, pay no attention to the order numbers. Here goes: 1) Big White House Winery and John Evans Cellars, Liver...

What is a blessing and my new vision

What do you find is a blessing in your life? Is it a material thing? Is it all you have in your possession? Is it a person, a friend, a family member, your children, your parents? Our blessings can be so many things - and its different to all of us. But I caution myself that I don't put too much importance on what I "have" or "don't have." Everything for me has the real reason in the background - but all people see are the material thing (except those who know me well - I mean, really know me and have been through hard stuff with my life and hard stuff in there life - they know who they are). I don't usually say anything about what that item actually means. Case in point: I posted something this morning and have been posting about another thing that I have in my possession. But those things mean more than just their physical properties. My vision boards in the past were loaded with visuals of things that represented something greater. And the new one I...

Changing up my health plans and 1 more chapter...

Today is day 2 in 2 new health endeavors, and the third is day 22 (well, since I started it but not everyday). Lets go backwards and start with number 3 (though the numbers 1 & 2 are what prompted me to write this blog). About 3 weeks ago, I started a morning breathing routine. You can call it yoga but its really just 11-12 minutes of breathing in very simple, focused positions - no crazy poses, downward dogs, warriors, etc. Just the floor, against the wall, seating crossed legged. That's it. And it changed my daily thoughts a bit. It has helped center me more for what the day brings me. And if I do it at night, it helps me sleep. But I've found that I live in a house that is not conducive daily to this practice. I need to find the right time to do it so I haven't been consistent enough. Thats my goal for the next month - establish consistency of this early morning wake up reset.  My second health goal is to figure out my eating issue of coughing with almost every bite ...

Sleep is a thief and happiness

I WAS tired 😫 but sleep decides to steal away and my constant back if my throat allergies continue to make me cough when lying down. So sleep will come but not now. In the meantime, I saw a post and wanted to comment on it. It said, and I'm paraphrasing, "Don't look for someone to make you happy...you have that ability yourself. Find someone to ADD  to your happiness." So, so true! I have met so many in bad relationships or looking for "the one" for the wrong reasons - and the biggest bad reason is that they'll be "happy" or what they are "missing" in life.  Its a lie! Not one person can make you happy for every day of your life - that job is your choice, the choices you make. No one can make you feel good or bad unless you let them. You.  I haven't had a serious romantic relationship for about 10 years, so maybe you'll take what I say with a grain of salt but here is why I know that post is true - after I set up my personal ...
