First post in years and some new goals

I found my old blogspot account (finally) - and it couldn't have been a better day for it. In an effort to pry myself away from social media during the first quarantine-mandate of what may be normal for us on a yearly or bi-yearly basis (thanks to some really stubborn germs), I turned to finishing some stories. Only when I was able to find my old external hard drive that they were located more than half were missing. My heart sank for a moment (that was a lot of writing lost!). But then I realized that I had saved hard copies of most of them. It'll be a lot of retyping but most of them need editing anyway.

But it gave me the idea to look for my old blogger journal and get it up again. I re-named it and made it easier to find: the url is just my full name now. So instead of spending so much time now on social media, I can just write on this blog site and then share it to my facebook and instagram pages (I hope - I haven't tried that yet. We'll see if I can figure that out). If you are reading this post from either of those pages then, "Yay!" - I figured it out!

Anyway, one of my goals in the next 5 weeks is to figure out a better website than this to create for my writing and other musings. At some point I want to publish something and get paid for it (and have a security in place so someone can't plagiarize any of my stories). In the meantime, I'll post snippets of stories, poems, chapters here - along with some daily musings - in my attempt to stay away from what is becoming the downright idiocy of social media and news that is mostly fake with a super small side of the real. Sometimes I'm even ashamed to have a BA in Journalism. Not every day; but more days recently than not.

At 2:05 a.m. April 2, 2020, I'm making new a passion I once had and is fighting to be known again. Have a good night! I might finally be tired - but even if I'm not I've got nothing better to do for awhile so I might as well keep writing.
